The demographic trends include the uncertainty of baby boomers future benefits like social security and retirement incentives. This has led to their increased interest in starting their own businesses for future security. With limited hope for traditional employment in the future, many Generation â€Å"Ys† will be forced to either start or work for small businesses. Small businesses in the area I live have had both positive and negative effects ever since their emergence. On the positive note, what used to be considered a dull and quiet neighborhood has become a busy small town with a lot of daytime activities, this also led to the introduction of a bus line by the county to ease transportation, more local jobs have been created, housing values have slightly risen and on the negative side, we now have congested streets with a lot of traffic and of course the inevitable noise.
